Youth soccer tournament held for the holiday weekend

GREENSBORO — The Greensboro Youth Soccer Adidas Labor Day Shoot Out is underway at Bryan Park for the weekend.
More than 260 teams from North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina and Georgia are in town for two days of play. Each team will get to play several games to see if they win there spot in the championship round. Officials said it is a great way to spend their Labor Day weekend.
“First of all its on a holiday so you are celebrating labor day. And it's mainly just a time to come out and play some soccer and a chance to win a championship,” said Alex Tomerlin, referee.
The Greensboro Convention and Visitors Bureau said events like this have a $25 million economic impact on the area. The championship round of soccer will kick off on Sunday afternoon.
It is free and open to the public.
