HIGH POINT -- High Point University reports seven-time Tour de France champion and public health advocate Lance Armstrong will serve as its 2011 commencement speaker in May.

Armstrong is a cancer survivor, a top worldwide professional cyclist and founder of the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

Past High Point commencement speakers include Bill Cosby, Buzz Aldrin, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and former New York City mayor, Rudy Giuliani.
