GREENSBORO -- The Salvation Army Boys and Girls club presented a $6,000 check to Capt. Jonathan Poff on Monday on behalf of his brother Bob, who is helping with the relief efforts in Haiti.
“When we heard he was OK, we were still concerned because he was in a country that was so devastated and so poor to begin with, we were concerned for his safety and where is going to sleep and where is he going to eat,” Jonathan Poff said. “And so for us, not only were we concerned about the people of Haiti, but it was very personal because my brother was in the middle of that.”
The donation will benefit the Salvation Army's orphanage in Port-au-Prince.
