CHARLOTTE -- A coalition of concerned citizens rallied Saturday to show their support for Jessica’s Law.
The proposed law, named for murder victim Jessica Lunsford, would stiffen penalties against anyone who commits a sex crime against a child.
A coalition of concerned citizens rallied Saturday.
“We are going to be visible and we're going to let the Raleigh lawmakers know we mean business,” said Jeff Gerber of the Coalition of Jessica’s Law. “We want child molesters of a child 12 years of age or under, put away for a minimum of 25 years.”
The law requires any offender sentenced to less than a life sentence to wear a GPS device to be monitored.
