Tournament Town hosts ACC baseball fans this week and downtown businesses are joining the fan cheers. The city of Greensboro is holding this year's ACC baseball tournament at NewBridge Bank Park, home of the Greensboro Grasshoppers. It's only the second time the city has hosted the event.

Wednesday marks the fourth day of deliberations for the jury in the John Edwards campaign finance trial. It began the day at 9:30 a.m. with two exhibits requested late Tuesday afternoon and is still working toward reaching a verdict for the six charges brought against the former presidential candidate.

The Winston-Salem-Forsyth County School Board decided Tuesday night to postpone a vote on altering future school calendars. The proposed changes would start instruction in early August instead of late August and would end classes in late May instead of early June.

Athlete Diane Van Deren is running the Mountains-to-Sea Trail. It's 1,000 miles of rugged trail from the Smoky Mountains to the Coast. The athlete hopes to set a record and finish the journey in less than a month.

About 250 generous volunteers took time out of their busy schedules Tuesday to pack meals for thousands of Tar Heel seniors in need who depend on food banks. This program, sponsored by AARP, is part of a larger effort to feed one million hungry seniors throughout the state, and The King of NASCAR was there to lend his support.

Another major road project could be coming to Greensboro. City leaders introduced plans that would extend Florida Street Monday night. They said the project could mean new development for the area. Transportation officials said the goal is to provide better mobility for north-south connectivity in East Greensboro.

The project's been years in the making after residents rejected one proposed site and voted some county commissioners out of office because of the plan. The old jail was built in the 1950s. The state closed it several times when the the mercury soared in the formerly un-air-conditioned facility. There were electrical and plumbing problems and it only had 29 beds.

There will not be a verdict Friday in the John Edwards campaign finance trial. Jurors asked the judge if they could come back Monday morning to resume deliberations but they are continuing their work, looking over several exhibits. They are expected to return at 9:30 a.m. Monday.

More cuts could be on the way for the Greensboro public library system. City and county leaders are proposing a reduction of more than $300,000 in funding. The cuts include eliminating four positions. Leaders said they are using the cuts as an opportunity to streamline services at Greensboro Public Libraries.
