FAYETTEVILLE -- Cumberland County commissioners want people who live and work along I-95 to receive a discount on proposed tolls. The Department of Transportation wants to use the tolls to help pay for a multi-billion dollar project to widen and improve the highway.

Some commissioners said if locals aren't given a discount, they'll choose instead to drive on rural, secondary routes.

Several counties have said charging tolls would hurt their local economies.
