CAMP LEJEUNE – Marines at Camp Lejeune are completing their Don't Ask Don't Tell training. The training is mandated by the department of defense prior to the repeal of the law.

Highlighted during the training are different scenarios regarding the treatment of those serving while openly gay.

Once all the armed services have completed the training, the Department of Defense will notify the president that repeal of the ban will not negatively impact the military's ability to fight.

"Then the president will mandate that 60 days after that date the repeal will go into effect,” said Lt. Col. Kenneth Kelsay. β€œIt hasn't happened yet but it's coming and that's why we're preparing for it."

The training includes videos and a question and answer session.
