MYRTLE BEACH, N.C. — Myrtle Beach police dropped charges against the man they once questioned in connection with the disappearance of Brittanee Drexel, 17.

Kidnapping and assault charges against Timothy Shawn Taylor have also been dropped in another case. Authorities said an investigation showed that Taylor was somewhere else during an attempted abduction.

Drexel disappeared while on a spring break trip to Myrtle Beach. Police said they found no connection between the two cases.
