NEW BERN, N.C. -- The makers of a Mobile Voting Precinct hope to make it easier for voters to head to the polls. A company out of New Bern spent years creating the state-of-the-art facility.

Print elect officials say the unit makes voting quick and easy. It has everything that a normal polling place has except it's on wheels. The concept behind the mobile voting unit is to bring the vote to the people. The company will hit the road, and travel across the country so people can use it.

"This really solves so many of the problems that are faced by the election officials and the voting public today," said Tiffiney Miller, the former elections director.

Election directors from across the state have checked out the MVP this week.

"The need for this unit is wonderful," said Miller. "It's going to really solve a lot of the problems for the election officials."

As many as 15 voters can be inside at one time, even those with special needs.

"We've designed this unit not only to satisfy the voters, but also to satisfy people with disabilities as well," said Owen Andrews the MVP company's president. "We have a full handicap ramp in the back."
