WILMINGTON – More than 100 plant workers will lose their jobs in Wilmington as the Meadwesvaco plant shuts down operations.

Officials with the Virginia-based beverage packaging plant say the company will shut down operations at the coast by August. Equipment and production will be moved to other facilities.

Officials say the company has been struggling with sharply lower demand. The closure is part of a cost management program.
