Locals say the area is a popular spot for sunbathers looking to avoid tan lines. But after a local man complained after visiting the area with his family, leaders are making a change.

Brunswick County officials say they will come up with a sign banning nudity on the beach. County commissioners say Bird Island is not a registered nude beach and that full exposure is against state law.
