CONCORD -- The property rate is going up in Cabarrus County, but it does not mean homeowners will be paying more.
In a split vote, the Board of Commissioners approved a 9-percent property tax increase at Monday night's meeting.
These tax increases follow a revaluation in Cabarrus County where a majority of properties actually lost value this year. Depending upon the assessed value of the home, the homeowner could be paying more or less next year.
