CHARLOTTE -- Police say two people apparently drowned in an east Charlotte pond when their boat capsized Saturday night. Family members reported the pair missing at about 9:30 p.m. and neighbors spotted a capsized boat in a pond off Williams Road.

Charlotte Fire Department teams found the first body shortly after the began. The second was discovered at about 1 a.m.

The victims' names have not been released
