CHARLOTTE — Police have identified the man shot and killed during a home invasion and robbery in north Charlotte Friday as 29-year-old Jonathan Boddie.

Boddie had a previous arrest on drug charges. Witnesses said two armed men forced another man inside the house on Finchley Drive and assaulted him. A woman inside the house heard the commotion and shot at one of the suspects, killing him.

"She came across the yard here screaming. She was just jumping up and down, she was just scared to death. She said she had shot two guys because they had broke in their house. I think they were still in bed," said neighbor James Bailey.

The other suspect ran off. The man who was assaulted was taken to Carolinas Medical Center for minor injuries. Anyone with additional information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
