MINT HILL, N.C. — Some Mint Hill neighbors said that littering is starting to become an issue that can't be ignored.

They said people are dumping used construction material, landscaping debris, and garbage at two vacant housing developments. Resident Skipper Bailey said the problem is two fold. The dumpers are avoiding landfill fees by dumping the trash illegally and land developers aren't managing properties properly.

“We see a pile here and a pile there and it grows. Sometimes it gets cleaned up and then it is back again,” said Bailey.

Bailey said he plans to address the problem formally at the next Mint Hill Town Council meeting this week.
