CHARLOTTE — Police arrested two women in connection with a series of robberies near Southpark Mall.

Officers said Laporcha Mason and Lauren Perry, both 20-years-old, tried to take purses from victims both at the mall and at locations near the mall. Those victims reported that the women were driving a small, red SUV. Police spotted that car on Friday and arrested the women.

Mason and Perry are both charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, common law robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery.
