CHARLOTTE — The Better Business Bureau estimates they could receive hundreds of more complaints against a roofing company that abruptly closed last month.
The President of American Shingle said they had 2,500 unfulfilled contracts with customers and only 600 customers have filed complaints. But the BBB said with that number of contracts, there could be hundreds of more complaints to come.
“If you are waiting for your roof to be installed, it is not going to happen. If you have had a roof installed by American Shingle, any warranty that came with it is going to be void,” said Tom Bartholomy, president of BBB.
The BBB estimated American Shingle closing has cost customers more than $563,000.
