CHARLOTTE -- A teacher at Providence Day School is accused of inappropriately touching a minor. Tristan Russell, 28, faces sexual assault charges against a 13-year-old student.

Police say the alleged assault happened off school grounds. Russell's been placed on unpaid administrative leave.

His prior teaching experience includes working at the Charlotte school's after-school and summer programs for two years.
