HIGH POINT— With the housing market struggling to rebound after the recession builders and realtors are getting creative to sell their homes.
One common trend they find people are looking for is energy efficient homes. It provides for a home that won't lose its cool in the summer or heat in the winter and can save a homeowner as much as 30-percent on energy bills.
“I think that it makes it more attractive for a buyer, people are trying to save money. Interest rates are at historic low prices are at a fantastic price point right now and in addition to those aspects, we can also save money on our energy bills, said Lisa Duke, Certified Ecobroker.
There are other special incentives that encourage buyers to go green like tax breaks, rebates and special loans for people who install energy efficient products in their home.
