CHARLOTTE -- Hundreds of cyclists are expected to hit the streets of Charlotte Friday night for the ninth annual 24 Hours of Booty. The charity ride for the Lance Armstrong Foundation and other cancer organizations kicks off at 7 p.m.

Some roads will be shut down from 6 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday. These roads are: Queens Road West, Queens Road, Hopedale Avenue and Selwyn Avenue.

For the first time, event organizers raised $1 million before the ride. Twelve hundred cyclists are expected to raise money for cancer research and survivorship. They will ride around the booty loop, a 2.97 mile path through Myers Park.
