CHARLOTTE -- Leaders of the Islamic Center of Charlotte responded to claims made by Operation Save America that Islam is "a lie."

They said Islam means "submission to the will of god" and is a religion of truth.

"I would just like to extend the invitation out to Mr. Benham and his group to find out what Islam really is and if he ever does that he will find out that what he believes islam is is a lie," said Jibril Hough of the Islamic Center of Charlotte.

Operation Save america is led by Rev. Philip Benham and has been based in Concord since 2002.
