HICKORY, N.C. – The Hickory Fire Department is expected to launch an investigation into a ceiling collapse at an area church.

A dozen people were injured Sunday when a portion of the ceiling at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church fell.

Witnesses said they heard a loud noise before it fell. 12 people were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
