CONCORD, N.C. -- Family Promise of Cabarrus County will be able to better help its clients thanks to a donation from the Dale Junior Foundation.

Family Promise helps low-income families secure permanent housing. In the meantime, the families in need move between host churches, taking their belongings with them.

The foundation donated a trailer to help transport families' possessions.

“We had typically been borrowing vans and pickup trucks and just kind of piecemealing along, but this is just an awesome donation that's going to make it easier for us to do our job,” Family Promise director Pam Smith said.

Family Promise was founded 20 years ago and has helped more than 250,000 people, securing housing for roughly 80 percent of their clients.
