CHARLOTTE – Thirty years after they were closed, Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation leaders are considering reopening some designated swimming areas.

Park and Rec leaders are talking about lifting the swimming ban at Ramsey Creek on Lake Norman first. There would be a permit process, which usually takes 1-2 years.

County commissioners would have to approve the change in policy. They’re expected to consider the issue next month.
