CHARLOTTE – Local business leaders gathered at Charlotte’s Diversity Forum Thursday to talk about how diversity in the workplace can spark business innovation.

The forum was created earlier this month, but its official launch was during Thursday’s meeting.

Leaders said its philosophies could help local businesses be more competitive.

“This is an event to discuss diversity and inclusion in the Charlotte area,” Johnny Taylor, president of RushmoreDrive.com, said. “We are talking to business leaders, not-for-profit leaders, academia, to really talk about this issue of diversity and inclusion.”

One of the forum’s founding sponsors said it could become a resource that helps grow business and create jobs in the Charlotte area.
