CHARLOTTE -- Festivities surrounding the ACC Tournament in Charlotte continued on Saturday with the Legends Brunch.
Fans at the Westin heard from about a dozen ‘ACC Legends’ this weekend, including former Tar Heel coach Dean Smith. He was honored for his 13 ACC championships, 11 Final Four appearances and his induction in to the College Basketball Hall of Fame.
Smith shared memories from his time in the ACC to the crowd, revealing what he missed most about coaching.
"I get a little nervous during the games now,” Smith said. “When you're coaching, you're concentrating so much you don't get nervous, other people get nervous. Now it's terrible."

Others shared stories and showed gratitude for the opportunities made possible because of college basketball.
"This tournament is near and dear to my heart,” said former Duke player Mike Gminski, “and the conference obviously, a sport that's given me everything in my life. To be a part of it, as a player. I still tell people at 48 I never had a real job, and I want to keep that streak going as long as I can."
The Charlotte Regional Sports Commission and the ACC hosted the event.
