MANTEO, N.C.--A Ohio man is back in North Carolina facing murder charges.

Nathan Summerfield, 27, is being held in the Dare County Detention Center.

He made his first court appearance in Ohio Friday.

He's charged with murder in the death of his girlfriend, 33-year-old Lynn Jackenheimer.

Her body was found in a plastic bag in a vacant lot in Frisco in July, and medical examiners confirmed she was stabbed and strangled.

Officers arrested Summerfield at a motel in Ohio, after a month on the run.

North Carolina officials say a grand jury will review the case September 10.
