GREENSBORO – A hearing for state Rep. Larry Womble was continued Wednesday.

The Forsyth County Democrat was scheduled to make a court appearance in connection with charges from a deadly wreck in Decemeber. He's charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle in the accident on Reynolds Park Road that killed David Carmichael of Winston-Salem.

The 70-year-old Womble was critically injured in the accident.

Toxicology reports show Carmichael had a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit. Womble had no alcohol in his system but police say he did cross the center line, causing the accident.

Since the accident, Womble has announced he would not seek re-election.

The hearing has been rescheduled for November.
