WILMINGTON – A non-profit foundation has been set up to help fund UNCW's undersea laboratory.

The Aquarius Foundation hopes to raise raise between $1 and $3 million. The lab was placed on the chopping block this past May due to lack of federal funding.

It is located in the Florida Keys and is used for marine research.
