WILSON—Low-income families in Wilson have a new opportunity to own their own condos.

The Wilson Housing Authority is accepting applications to live in it's Eagle Pointe complex. On Thursday, the public was invited to an open-house to view the two and three-bedroom, two-story units.

Executive Director Edward Jagnandan said the authority used federal stimulus money to convert the former Section-8 housing into new homes.

"It means a lot. It means there is more homeownership into the market. It means that low-income people can find something affordable to live in,” said Jagnandan.

Those who lived in the area before it was converted are the first people invited to apply.
