CHARLOTTE -- The USO of North Carolina is trying to raise $50,000 for a matching grant offered by the Levine family in Charlotte. Between now and June 30, the Levines will match up to $50,000.

The money raised will be used for the USO of North Carolina Center at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport. The Charlotte center and four others in North Carolina serve more than 400,000 people a year and the organization only has 13 paid staff members across the state.

"The biggest support that we get are from a group of about 700 dedicated volunteers," said John Falkenbury of the USO of N.C. "They are the heart of this organization."
