CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. -- Beach music could be heard along the Carolina Beach strand all day Saturday. The 25th Carolina Beach Music Festival hit the shores with bands from all along the east coast.

Both out of towners and locals say each year the music festival is a highlight for Carolina Beach summer festivities.

"Well we heard about the 25th anniversary and a lot of the bands we like are in the line up and we thought it was a great way to spend a saturday afternoon," said Jeanne Roberts, a resident of North Myrtle Beach.

Both locals and tourist will compete in a shag contest on the boardwalk Saturday night.
