RALEIGH -- Investigators have released the autopsy results of Cynthia Moreland and say they may never know exactly how she died.

Moreland, 48, was reported missing Aug. 22 when she failed to show up for work. Her body was found about two weeks later behind an abandoned house in Harnett County.

According to the autopsy, Moreland's body was so badly decomposed that it is impossible to determine how she died.

Antonio Chance, 29, has been charged with killing her. The state is seeking the death penalty in the case. His trial date has not been set.
