CHARLOTTE -- One of the two people charged with conspiring to kidnap two children from Cornelius pleaded guilty in court Wednesday.

Linda Gonzalez, 21, is charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping and could spend up to five years in prison.

Gonzalez and Ruben Garcia-Rosario are accused of writing a ransom note demanding money from a family of two young children. An indictment against the two was filed in November.

The family told police they saw Garcia-Rosario driving by the children's bus stop. He is in the Mecklenburg County jail and has not entered his plea.
