CONCORD, N.C. -- A Texas double murder suspect arrested over the weekend in Concord told members of a church that had been helping him that he was innocent.
Officers arrested Albert Turner at Carolina Mall after viewers of Friday’s “America’s Most Wanted” show called in and tipped off police. Turner is accused of killing his wife and mother-in-law in December and is in custody in Greensboro at this time.
Members of Fellowship 5:17 helped Turner find food and shelter for about a month and a half. He told them he did not know who he was.
Church members visited Turner Monday night and he told them he was innocent. They say they plan to stay in contact with him and hope he is telling the truth.
