CHAPEL HILL – Police are urging Chapel Hill residents to be on alert after a 23-year-old UNC student was robbed on campus last night.

Campus police say the male student was robbed just before 2 a.m. near the Morehead Planetarium off Franklin Street.

Authorities said the unidentified student was walking back to campus with two men he met at a downtown restaurant. The victim told police one of the men struck him from behind and knocked him to the ground. The suspects then took off with the victim's wallet.

No weapons were used.

Police describe the suspects as black males in their early to mid 20s. One of the suspects is described at 5 feet 8 inches in height with a medium build wearing khaki cargo shorts, a white tank top and baseball cap.

No other information was given on the second suspect.
