CHARLOTTE -- Police and a SWAT team are at the scene of a standoff and possible shooting in northeast Charlotte.

Medic crews say a 911 call came in Monday morning from a house on Meadow Bank Lane, off Highway 49 near the Mecklenburg-Cabarrus County line.

Authorities say the person on the phone told dispatchers that two people had been shot but police have not found any evidence that that is true.

The person inside the house is threatening to shoot anyone who comes near the house. Some nearby neighbors have been evacuated as a precaution.
