CHARLOTTE -- An 11-year-old boy from the Ballantyne area has come up with a creative way to give people incentive to donate to the needy this Christmas.
Tyler Strasser hosted a toy drive this weekend, where everyone who donated got a raffle ticket to compete in a Nintendo Wii bowling competition.
The winner of the competition gets to take home their very own Wii, one of the hottest gifts this holiday season.
Strasser said he’s been collecting goods for the poor and needy since he was three.

"It just makes you really feel good that you’re helping other people, and I know that it is my job from God.”
Strasser also donates toys to military families with parents overseas and kids with special needs, while collecting goods to send to soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as senior citizens.
