WAKE FOREST -- Emotions are expected to be high Friday night, as Wake Forest University, the community and basketball teams honors Skip Prosser, who passed away earlier this year.
The tribute is set to happen right before the Demon Deacons take to the court for the first game of the season, and first game under new Head Coach Dino Gaudio.
All of the specifics of the ceremony honoring the former coach have not been released, but there will be a video tribute, and tickets have been reduced to $5 to get in.
The university had declined to hold an additional service honoring the coach when school started again, out of respect for Prosser’s wife. She had already attended three such services.
This is the first time that the community and students will be able to officially honor Prosser, who died at the end of July, four weeks before students moved back onto campus for the fall semester.

University officials set up screenings of the tribute video for the team in the days leading up to the game against Fairfield. They were hoping to lessen the emotional impact of watching it during the tribute.
