CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- The search for UNC Chapel Hill’s next chancellor still continues, and the school is looking for some input from the people of Chapel Hill.
Two forums to gather that input are being held, with the first taking place last Friday. The committee has to find a successor for James Moeser, who is stepping down in June.
The forum at the Friday Center was for alumni, local elected officials and people from Chapel Hill. The other forum will be held next Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Chancellor’s Ballroom at the Carolina Inn, and will target faculty, staff and students.
There's lots going on at UNC Chapel Hill this week.
Also in UNCCH news, Friday was Campus Sustainability Day, a celebration of the UNCCH people, the planet and prosperity. People enjoyed food, drinks and even rides on a Segway people mover.
The university is proud of its efforts to become more environmentally friendly on campus. There are several so-called ‘green’ buildings on campus. The new FedEx Global Education Center has two ‘green’ roofs and stores rainwater that is used to flush toilets.
When Morrison Residence Hall was renovated, it launched a solar-powered hot water system. The campus also achieved a record 43 percent recycling rate last year.
