LAKE WYLIE, S.C. -- Barbecue sauce is helping raise money for the Democratic National Convention. Earlier this week, three barbecue sauces were selected by the DNC Committee to be the official sauces of the convention. The winning sauces are from Lake Wylie, Asheville and Charlotte.
The sauces are being featured and sold on the Charlotte in 2012 website.
Brian Rich created Q2U vinegar-based barbecue sauce. His sauce is one of the three winners.
“Our sales this week have already picked up," he said. "They jumped as of Wednesday and you can see a trend when people started ordering.”
According to the Charlotte in 2012 website, the sauces will be sold together to people from across the county as part of the convention's grassroots fundraising efforts.
