CHARLOTTE -- If you are a Charlotte-area college student interested in helping the preparations for next year's Democratic National Convention, planners want to hear from you. Convention planners are accepting applications through Friday for an expanded internship class that runs from January to mid-April.
Interns prepare memos, attend meetings and greet visitors at the DNC Convention office and are placed in one of eight planning departments.
"To have this on my resume for something that's a national event like this I think shows you can handle a lot, that you are good with people, that you are very organized, and that you are very passionate in what you do," said current intern Douglas Cole.
DNC Convention interns are both graduate and undergraduate students. This semester's class are enrolled at CPCC, UNC Charlotte, Davidson, Charlotte School of Law and Winthrop.
