Let's Cook: Spiced Apple Crumble

INGREDIENTS:

• 4 Granny Smith Apples
• 1 cup Brown Sugar
• 1 tsp Cinnamon
• 1 Lemon- Juiced
• 2 tbsp Melted Butter
• 1 tbsp Flour
• 1 1/2 cup Ginger Snap Crumbs (approximately 20 cookies put in food processor)

PROCEDURE:

1. Preheat oven to 400°. Quarter the peel apples then thinly slice.

2. Combine the apples, 3/4 cups of brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon and allow them to sit covered for five minutes.

3. Melt 1 tbsp butter and add the flour. Whisk the flour mixture into the juice that has developed in the apple mixture.

4. Combine well and portion into a microwaveable, oven proof casserole. Microwave the apple for six minutes, covered, then remove.

5. Combine the ginger snap crumbs, 1 tbsp melted butter and 2 or 3 tsp of brown sugar in a bowl.

6. Sprinkle over the casserole of apple and place directly in the oven. Bake for 15 minutes and serve with vanilla ice cream.
