CHARLOTTE--A new class of high schoolers has been recruited to become part of the future workforce at a global powerhouse in electronics and electrical engineering.

A pilot apprenticeship program, called Apprenticeship 2000, promises non-college track seniors an hourly wage, an education and a job after graduation.
