RALEIGH – Saturday marked the last day of competition at the First Robotics tournament.
More than 30 schools from across the state took part in the regional competition at Dorton Arena.
Rebound Rumble was this year's theme so students designed their robots to shoot hoops. Teams had just 6 weeks to build them from scratch.
"It's about learning not only the skills of technical machining, all the ones you would associate with robotics, not only that but leadership, real life skills that you would learn in business, just common practices that everybody needs to learn," said 12-grade student Sam Hill.
Time Warner Cable, the parent company of News 14 Carolina, sponsored the event.
