The canvass is complete for N.C. House District 10, showing a state representative who's asking for a recount remains behind his challenger.
Rep. Stephen LaRoque lost to John Bell in the primary but is asking for a recount because his supporters want him too.
"It was pretty much just about everybody I spoke with the day after the election, including members of the legislature, that had asked me to ask for a recount and after you get so many folks asking you, Ifelt like it was the right thing to do," said LaRoque.
District 10 covers Wayne, Lenoir and Greene counties. LaRoque said he plans to deliver the letter asking for a recount to the state Board of Elections tomorrow.
Here are the latest results after Tuesday's canvass:
John Bell: 3,891, 50.38 percent
Stephen LaRoque: 3,832, 49.62 percent
