CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte Knights moved closer Friday in their quest to relocate to Uptown.

On Friday, team officials met a June 30 deadline to submit a full financing plan to Mecklenburg County. Officials with the county will review the plan and give a recommendation to commissioners on Tuesday whether or not to move forward.

According to documents, the financing plan includes a commitment letter from lenders, contractors, and a roadway improvements schedule. If the ballpark is built as planned, the project would also include $16 million in reimbursement payments from the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County.

If the county approves the Knights' financing plan, the team would have to start construction on the Uptown ballpark by October 1 and have it ready for baseball in spring of 2014.
