CHARLOTTE – An event focused on real estate trends in uptown Charlotte took on a political tone Thursday morning.

Former Bank of America CEO Hugh McColl spoke at the Urban Land Institute's spring meeting. The meeting brings together real estate and economic professionals to talk about how the market is changing.

During the event, McColl was also asked about his views on the upcoming presidential election.

"You're not putting me on the spot because I read in my local paper that I'm supporting Romney and that I believe was accurate,” he said. “I did support Mr. Obama last time because I thought we needed a change and I guess what I think now is we need a change."

Other speakers at the Urban Land Institute meeting included Erskine Bowles and former U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz.
