GREENSBORO — As the temperatures rise, so do the crowds going to downtown Greensboro.

This weekend, a number of outdoor activities are drawing thousands to the heart of Greensboro; including First Friday. The event was the opening of the downtown greenway and home games for the Greensboro Grasshoppers.

Ed Wolverton with Downtown Greensboro Inc. expects the foot traffic to continue throughout the season.

"It's always busy, but as the weather gets warmer, people love to come out, they love to enjoy the park. We have 15 different patios and outdoor dining spots. They love to sit outdoors and watch the cars go by and have their food and beverages," said Wolverton.

Wolverton said First Friday is a great way for businesses and artists alike to showcase their products. The free event is in downtown Greensboro the first Friday of every month from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
