WILMINGTON — Film production continues to bring in revenue for North Carolina.
Productions spent more than $121 million in North Carolina last year and put more than 10,000 people to work. That is an increase of more than $40 million dollars spent in the state in 2009. At least $275 million dollars in production money is expected to be spent in the state this year.
State film industry officials attribute that success to the General Assembly and its decision to beef up the state's film tax credit in January of last year. At least $275 million dollars in production money is expected to be spent in the state this year.
